Quantity-sensitive languages

Languages that take syllable weight into account when assigning stress. An example of a quantity-sensitive language is English, because heavy syllables usually attract stress (and light syllables dispel stress). An example of a quantity-insensitive language is Latvian (see also: heavy and light syllables).
